The 1931 Auburn line was redesigned by Alan Leamy, a young designer hired away from Marmon in 1928, and Leamy’s work on the sleek Cord L-29 certainly influenced his success with the 1931 Auburn 8. The Convertible Coupes remain one of the most desirable body styles, and this lovely Maroon example runs smoothly and silently and is an excellent driver. The Lycoming straight-8 engine received a comprehensive rebuild just a few seasons ago, with documents accompanying that work, so the 8-98A stands fully ready to load up the rumble seat and enjoy some classic motoring.

As the owner of a CCCA Full Classic, you’ll be welcomed into all their club activities, including CARavan Tours, Grand Classics, and of course, nearly any ACD events. This stylish Auburn features a new Saddle leather interior and tan canvas top that were created using ACD Museum templates, and see why many enthusiasts credit the Auburn 8’s success with placing the automaker squarely in the center of the American luxury car market.
